New Brush

I have had a search on here but can't find any advice for newbies with new brushes. (May be just me not searching properly).

I have ordered a Simpsons Milk Churn brush which should be here any day and it's my first badger brush. No doubt there will be instructions etc but I thought I would seek the wisdom of everyone here.

Do I run a few test lathers through it and such like ?

Oh I do have a brush stand for it.

When you get it just rinse it in warm water and do at least a couple of trial lathers with soap or cream in a bowl or just on your hand. Then just shave with it the next day.

No real need for a stand - it's down to personal preference.

Cheers Fido.

I have only had cheap boars up to now and want to make sure I treat the Milk Churn well.
