Max Sprecher? Is he really all that?

Hello again, while I'm on here thought I'd ask about MAX.
After having no luck in finding reliable custom makers in the UK since Ed hung up his grinder I've been going further afield.
Europe, USA and Canada.
Don't get me wrong I don't do this a lot just one for my birthday now and again.
Anyhoo, been saving up for a while and always looked at Max Sprecher razors and thought that they look lovely.

The question is are they worth the money and do they do the business.

I've been looking for the last couple of years and can't find one in the UK. I'll see if I can track down Micheal as I would always prefer to buy local.

FB = IG, two limbs of the lizard king, though many seem to give the latter a pass

DD blades look to me to be much better than Sprecher but to each their own

I've just picked up a new one yesterday. Whoops. 9/8", 1/2, with beautiful grind work on the spine and tail. What a machine.

FYI this was £200 -- it is 01 steel. He currently has a damascus one for £275!

Personally, in my opinion Max is overrated and not too helpful from my experience in the past.

You can try Kym Mathias, known as kmrazordesigns on Instagram and Facebook.

We follow each other on Instagram, pleasant guy to talk too and very helpful with any questions or ideas for scales, honing etc.

Hello gents, I haven’t been on this forum for a long while but I’m back now.
I am still making razors and still loving it so I’m not stopping anytime soon.
