Hi guys, the only Italian high end soap I've tried is the excellent SV.
Now, for those who have used Cella, how does this compare to the luxury end ,the subject of this thread? I do love the thought that Cella might be as good.

Cella is a soap I regularly use for it's performance, it's smell and likelihood of going rancid are negatives. Every shaver should have this in his rotation.

The main difference is the upmarket packaging, the history of the brands, the expensive ingredients and scents. Now Cella has traditional type marketing behind it - they changed the Cella on the tub to an old fashioned guy shaving, and tallow. If they could just make it smell nice.

It couldn't smell any more rancid than the original scent.

Indeed every shaver should have one if you don't mind wearing the aroma of a Christmas cake.

Cella is a great soap. But for pure Christmas cake-ness, may I recommend Vitos Vegetale? My favourite Italian luxury soap, incidentally is Santa Maria Novella Tabacco Toscana.

The pre old guy tub had tallow also.

I was pointing out that the previous packaging was not going to attract the traditionalist. It was always going to attract them based on the ingredients...

The latest more old fashioned feel packaging...

I found the performance to be genuinely superb, but I couldn't handle the scent if used frequently, too sickly.

Have you used the Aloe Vera one? It seems to be rated very highly.
