Although deffinitley not in London Hungerford is on the main line from Paddington to Cornwall and off junction 14 of the M4, about an hours drive from london. We have approx 80 different types of shaving brushes in stock at any one time and nothing can beat actually handling your intended purchase. We also have a small selection of two banded Simpsons Chubby 2 Supers in stock.

I agree - but sadly for most of us the ability to do that is tempered by the cost of doing so (in my case the nearest/cheapest actual emporium to get to is probably in Antwerp :? - a hell of a way to go for a brush :mrgreen

Delighted to have seen this. I visit an antique shop in Hungerford to see if I can add to my bell collection. Near christmas I will take my wife with me and give her some ideas for my christmas and birthday presents - then leave her in the shop while I go on a bell search. I'm looking forward to it already.

I actually phoned the shop yesterday. A delightful lady answered the phone. "Could I speak to someone about brush selection" said I. "You can speak to me if you like" Said she. I chuckled. I guess I betrayed my male chauviinism. Turns out I'm talking to the first lady. You have a lovely wife Robert who gave very practical advice. Well before christmas I will book myself in for a shave and a shave consultation session and have a good look round your shop. And rest assured, I will report back here. And by the way, Lady Johnston convinced me I didn't need an additional brush. But that won't put me off having a good look at those luxury Simpsons when I arrive!

The good lady is right of course but once you've seen those Simpson's your'e ummm head will get turned.

She's right of course - you don't need an additional brush - you need at least two :lol:

Seriously though (for a moment) it's the need/want thing, your shaving life isn't going to end because you don't have two brushes - perhaps it'll be more enjoyable with a second though.

Perceptive observation.
I know I am stone cold certain to acquire additional brushes. But I want to be sure the next one is carefully thought about. I am more than happy to spend what it takes to get the very best just as long as I get delight from it. But I don't like wasting my money either. So I shall be patient for now until I feel a little more sure of what I really want.
