I've heard (read) people here talking about the Cade soap. In Debenhams before xmas I saw this.
http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs..._123601902399_-1?breadcrumb=Home~txtloccitane Even if this isn't Cade, does anyone know if this is suitable for shaving with? They have shaving gel but I wanted a good soap, but only if it's suitable obviously?

Having been there in person I can see no mention of shaving suitability on the packing.

That's a silly price on Amazon

You can get it direct from a L'Occitane Store or here for £8.25 plus shipping:

In the rather grand silver bowl which you don't need, it's over £20.

Nowhere near me sadly. I have a friend who works in Bury St Edmunds; he might be able to get me some. Or I'll wait till I next go to London.
Or just drop hints to my girlfriend as my birthday approaches :)

Hiya,

In the past I've used the Cade SS and it's good. It's got a nice woodsy fragrance and the performance is fine. Post shave skin care could be a little better, but no big deal.

If I was to pick between that soap and DR Harris Marlborough, I'd take the Harris. Very similar scent as the Cade, although the Harris scent is stronger. To me it performs better, and has been in my rotation for a long time.

Bury has a L'Occitane shop so that should be OK. Went in there yesterday and checked out the sale. Of course nothing from the men's shaving range was included.

I expected as much! I begrudge paying for delivery on a more expensive soap. I'll get some one way or another! Main thing is not getting those from debenhams as they're not likely to be suitable and might give me or anyone else an undeserved poor rep

L'Occitane charge £8.25 for the soap plus £3.95 standard delivery, which seems a bit greedy, although it seems to be a fixed price.

It can be had for £8.79 delivery on ebay.

I'd like a SS bowl, but £27.50 is a bit OTT for a rotation soap for me.
