Is this really a razor?

It looks rather to "pointy" to me to be intended as a shaving tool but what do I know!

It's not a laguiole, but it certainly is a French pocket knife, intended for similar uses. It actually looks like a nice vintage pocket knife... I may consider bidding on it ;-)

What bothers me is that it appears not to have a stop: the first picture shows it opened through about 300 degrees....

Anyway here is some info on the brand: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.couteaux-jfl.com/marques.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.couteaux-jfl.com/marques.htm</a><!-- m -->

It's certainly in the laguiole design - if you google for a bit a number of them turn up, most cited as french WW1 issue. They appear to have been lock-knifes, which might explain why the blade is open so far - the locking mechanism and ring pull on the back could be missing.

Regards,
Neil
