Injectors - blade removal when not replacing blade?

Can anyone advise on the "best" way to remove the blade from an injector (no hydro-magic lever) to leave the razor blade-less for storage? Obviously I want to avoid damage (bent blade clamp, scratches etc). I'm sure a small carefully wielded screw driver would probably do the job, or perhaps the key from a blade cart, but am just wondering if anyone has a particularly nifty / foolproof method.

Not nifty but I have inserted a new blade about a third of the way in, so the old one starts to come out the other side an equal amount, then retracted the new blade back into its dispenser, leaving me to pull the old blade out.
