The 620 and 610 I had seemed to be lather eaters. Not had that problem with omega boars. I sold them both and wouldn't buy another.

Tried the Omega 98 for the first ti,e earlier but had to run out
before I could post my opinions.

that's it.

the Cella might have had something to add, but its fantastically soft for
a boar and a brilliant face latherer.

Thanks BB and Baidley..I have a pif set up ready to go, cos this is a keeper.

Well pif'd my own 49. Way to big. Splayed wildly. However I fitted my custom 400 with a 24mm Boar from TGN. Fantastic knot.

Gazza got the 98, must have been a typo, it is a far superior brush to the 49, holds its backbone even when fully broken in. IMHO it's probably the best commercially available boar out there.

Thats interesting, I'm finding mine similar. I stopped using my Silvertip because it was to much like a floppy mop and the 830 is going the same way. It still makes a cracking face/bowl lather though, but wouldn't mind try another boar, a little stiffer maybe....

Very much so - yon's a great wee brush. All depends on the seller, of course.

As to the best Omega, I'd plump for the 20102. That is, of course, if I hadn't hand-carved my own handle from Ash and inserted a large Omega boar knot......

Used it this morning in fact.
