Help me get knotted

After some advice please. I recently acquired a vintage shaving brush with a nice handle and a knackered knot. I have successfully removed the knot (knife, drill and lots of swearing) and am wanting to re-knot the little blighter.

Diameter of the hole is 25mm and it tapers down slightly so I am thinking 22mm knot to allow a bloom. I have plenty of depth to set the knot how I wish and will probably need to raise the height with some epoxy first.

Question is which knot to buy from Golden nib? I have Fido's NF2201 already and fancy trying something a little scrubbier as a contrast. I like the Vulfix 404 I have which I know is a mix but was wondering which grade of badger to go for, Finest, Best or something else entirely!

I already have a 24mm Finest Badger with extra hair to put in a handle that neocaligatio kindly sent me which I am also working on now so maybe not that either.

Oh so much to choose from - you decide!!

If its a boar brush get a replacement boar knot, they do a 22mm Super Badger with Extra hair, looks nice but it will be softer than your current 2 bands.

Not sure what was in it originally as they hair was pretty manky. Not keen to use boar, the handle is too noce for that. Was wondering about the lesser grades of badger (e.g. pure). Has any body tried these from Golden Nib?

I honestly don't know about the Pure knots but I'd definitely get that Finest knot mounted just to see if you like that style of hair (I used that knot in the first brush I every made)

You make like it but prefer something less dense.

Sound advice, currently applying daily coats of Boiled Linseed oil to the handle so will hopefully be able to mount my knot (oo err missus) next week sometime.

Thanks Ikon - seem nice but somewhat pricier than Gonden Nib

I was going to suggest Shavemac, but a custom made knot will raise the $$$$$$$$$.

I have a TGN finest 2 band bulb set a 46mm & it is a really great brush. It is great with soap, sticks & creams, it has enough backbone & soft tips. i would recommend it to anyone who face lathers.
