Help identifying the razor please

Bought this last week off french blade,it is an old type but I would like to know which one and what year?there is a letter G stamped on the guard of the razor,any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers for trying to help out Steve,but the handle pattern is completly different on mine,just had a look at all old types on that site an none of them match my case,I got a feeling that the case dosen't belong to this razor which could perhaps make it impossible to identify :?
