Hard or soft soaps?

well today thanks to a very generous PIF'er on the forum (RB73) i received a stick of Arko soap.. which i now understand to be soft, and I see why.

I'll be sure to post my reflections on this soap, and the other samples he sent me

I have no preference between the two, as i load up my brush and face lather the same with each. That said, i do find that Proraso invariably gives me a quicker Mr Whippy style lather than anything else, whether that is down to its texture or the ingredients, I do not know. :?

Which are the better artisan soaps, besides Sharon and Henk's? Can one also find artisan creams?

I think you bought one very good one by buying the MdC soap, that's an artisan soap right there
