grating soap

whenever i've been grating any soaps to fit into containers (sticks to cakes) i've just used an old one from the kitchen but decided to invest in one of those wee jobbies with a handle.

found this in Lidl today and it's a sturdy piece of kit, unless you want an expensive ss version that is.
not used it yet but it looks like it's more than up to the job

oh :?

sorry lads, no need for your postcode, just go to

special offers

kitchen essentials

rotary grater

just tested it and it dispatched a WS stick with ease ;)

nice and compact but probably smaller than you think, not that that's bad.

i had to cut the stick as it didn't fit in one go length wise but no major drama in that

This one?

A prize for the first to identify it...

Easy, that's D.R.Harris Cheddar Shaving Soap.

What do I win?

Correct! :D The most suitable prize would be a cake of the extremely rare Parmoliviano Reggiano. Sadly this fine cheesy soap with nutty undertones is no longer produced. I'm looking out for some NOS on eBay so I'll PIF you a sliver or two if I win any. ;)

DR Harris don't do an Emmental soap, but I think perhaps Trumpers do. Mama Bear does a whole 'Cheeses of Europe' range but they're glycerin of course so look different and don't need grating. This is starting to get complicated.

Let's not even get started on cheese creams. TOBS do a Philadelphia one. Or should that be cream cheese? :?
