Ginger wine

Rochester Dark Ginger.
Non alcoholic wine. Rather nice. Bit of a kick from the ginger but much less so than their more standard ginger wine.
I shall be buying more. Anyone else tried it?

I find Stone's Ginger Wine can be improved with the addition of a little vodka and a splash of tonic.

A variation on the Vodka Mule?

Ginger ale is a much underrated mixer, lovely with vodka or Canadian Club. Never tried Stones, for some reason I can't explain I thought it was a medicinal beverage.

This is because it was always listed as a "Tonic Wine" - indeed it used to be available at the Chemist !!

The Dark ginger is nicer than the standard ginger in my opinion. Much smoother, less firey.

I used to drink Stones ginger wine which is very nice but I'm pretty much teetotal now so I'll probably stick to Rochester Dark Ginger.

My wife is addicted to the stuff.

We were at a country show, in the Coquet Valley, during August and a maker was dishing out small samples of their brand.

It was hot...what a difference. Not sure if microwave will do it but it was fabulous. Mrs Spirit became most enthused so I generously bought her a bottle; er, or rather I was instructed to. .

Try it hot and let me know what you think, the sample was about a double whisky measure.
