Gillette Super Thin....... dried up already?

Hey fellas.

Have been looking into trying out some sharper blades. Have some feathers still to try but was also looking at some others and namely Gillette Super Thin (Thai) that hm and a few others hold in high regard. However upon searching the bay it would seem that these have dried up for the time being............ has the gannet squadron gone mental buying these and are they still in production or is it one of those "this is the last remaining pack sonny" things?

Quite happy to go with feathers (are they the sharpest out there?) for the time being but fancied trying something sharp and smooth.

To my knowledge about 90% of what was seen outside Thailand originated at the Mustafa centre in Singapore - they have supply issues (and I think I read of supply issues in Thailand too) so there are none to be sold on at the moment. The Vietnamese ones are reasonable substitutes but they come at a premium (same price in € for the Vietnamese as in US$ for the Thai)

If you want to try the Gillette Super Thins I'd be happy to PIF you a couple. They are good blades. It's a shame they seem to have dried up....

Found these this morning if it helps anyone.

I was going to be a bit more polite and say:

"The postage looks a bit steep".

At that price you might be better off getting the Vietnamese ones.

14.80 Euros for 100 Vietnameses

or $24.99 for 120 Thai

Excchange rates

mmmm.

At current exchange rates that works out at 13.3p per blade for the Vietnamese ones and 14p per blade for the Thai ones.

I'd rather wait for Dridiot to get them back in stock but there are worse blades out there for the price..

I tried these and quite liked them, but not enough to go on a massive global search for them... I prefer Iridiums and Feathers, which luckily for me are very easy to come by.

Incidentally, a Feather in the new Muhle/Jagger head is an awesome combo if you find a Feather too sharp in an HD!
