Heya all,
Had my very first DE shave last night and even though my lathering technique currently leaves a lot to be desired, I was really happy with the results.
I'm on a bit of a tight budget just now so the setup for my first go was :-
Weishi razor
WS brush
Gillette blade from a sample pack I was sent
Nanny's "Ice and a Slice" Soft Soap
I must say that for a total beginner I think I did rather well apart from the lathering bit which got a bit messy
, but as with all things, that will get better with practice. Nannys soap was really nice, had a good smell, was smooth and creamy, and gave my face a really fresh feeling.
I took things pretty slowly so as to make sure I didnt slice my own head off and surprised myself somewhat by managing to get a decent result without too much blood - just one small nick on my cheek
Even after just one DE shave I think I'm addicted, it's the first time in 25 years of shaving that I didn't feel like it was a chore and I actually enjoyed the whole experience. I can't wait for tomorrow when I have to do it again :shave
