Favourite fragrance 'house'?

Great thread topic Bandito!

For me as a man who loves fragrances as much as shaving products, their are too many to reel off but as a starter for ten I'd go with Amouage, Byredo, Christian Dior, Creed, Hermes, Le Labo, Thierry Mugler & Tom Ford.

In total agreement with Burgundy in terms of Frederic Malle & Serge Lutens fragrances. Both houses always produce well crafted scents.

A couple of houses I am really getting into at the moment are Atelier Cologne, Mancera & Maison Francis Kurkdjian. All of their fragrances I have sampled recently & smell absolutely great.

My scents the last 40 years: Brut, Paco Rabanne, Azzaro, Antheus, never finished a bottle, not even 10 percent of a bottle, still thinking of getting a new bottle, maybe Rive Gauche...

Do you buy samples then? Or is it more a case of smelling them at retailers?

Cheers

At the moment I'm super impressed with Armaf fragrances. I'm not really bothered what they are 'supposed' to be. They smell great, last a good while and as a bonus the missus loves them. I've got the Club De Nuit man and Intense man. Both lovely. I'm going to get some more.

I always ask for samples when I purchase a new fragrance. Its hit or miss if you manage get any but all of the usual department stores should carry samples, so worth asking the sales person.

A site you should definitely check out is
Skins.NL. I posted a similar reply last night. They are a Dutch online company, that offer designer & niche fragrances (plus skincare & cosmetics), at slightly cheaper prices compared to the UK retailers. The best part about Skins.NL is the sampling service. For €16 you pick 5 x 2ml samples from their entire range (inc delivery to UK). When your package arrives, you also receive a €15 voucher off a full bottle. All in all, a great company & service. I highly recommend checking them out.

I have no special maker, but I tend to get more of the Guerlain range. I also do like the Chanel series. Cartier also makes a nice one named Santos.

Hermès (Eau d'orange verte, Concentré d'eau d'orange verte, Terre d'Hermès, Terre d'Hermès Eau très fraïche), and most of the Eaux
Chanel (Antaeus)
