Erasmic old formula V new.

Wish I had discovered this forum a few days earlier, it would have saved me £1. Two sticks straight in the bin. Not realised they had changed the formula. Given it was so bad, I assumed it was a bad batch. The lather, once I got some, disappeared from my face before completing half of the first pass. Strange. Used this (the previous) stuff for quite a while.

Gents, the talibadgers are saying that Erasmic is going back to tallow as first ingredient...have you heard about this?Im really skeptical about it.Heres the thread:

Ok,I just found the answer to this.It seems a guy its been talking to the company which makes Erasmic:This is the thread about it:

So Tallow is BACK!!!!Since the good member here Peter sent me a couple of Old Erasmic tallow based stick I fell in love with the soap and its scent. For me performs much better than Palmolive(both the UK or German version)A happy day today!

I'm sceptical too. I think one thread was posted on April 1st the other looks like he has stumbled across some NOS tallow sticks.
I usually call into any chemists I happen to be passing and old Erasmic tallow sticks, old (sorry new) Palmolive sticks, UK Wilkinsons and even Swedes can still be found sometimes.

Couple of threads on the oldest/older/new erasmic

... Palmolive(both the UK or German version)...

There isn't (and hasn't been for at least a decade) a UK or German version - it's made in Germany & packaged for the entire European market, same EAN code, same packaging, same stick....
Different formulation.
PS;ok,I just got what you meant:so the tallow version is now being replaced by the new version, which it seems contains tallow too,but not as a first ingredient.Got it.Thanks

Actually... it may be that what we perceive as the new formulation is actually an old one - for example it doesn't have the little open jar logo (the one that tells you once open it has to be used in 36 months) which is I think mandatory now... the customer service addresses on the "new" are incorrect (the UK one at least is correct on the "old" packaging, not the "new"...)... I've read a post from someone who bought the "new" packaging back in 2006/7.... the fact that the "new" has "Palmolive" embossed in the foil (something that must cost money to do, even if it's a vanishingly small amount) where the "old" doesn't... the "new" doesn't smell as strongly as the old...

It's all kind of making sense that they found a few pallets of pre-2005 soap at the back of a warehouse and have simply pushed it to market.
