Ebay has been an exciting place for me for several years. My daughter made a lot of money in New York selling designer clothes picked up in charity shops.
I know there is a shaving related Ebay thread but I wondered if we might swop a few Ebay tales here. Some of my highlights include:

Listing a 1950s Bendix Washing machine for a friend who used it to spin dry only for years. It stopped washing in the 70s! Asked £5 minimum bid. Sold for £235 to a plumber who wanted it for his 1950s retro home project. My friend had asked me to take it to the tip for him.

Bought a box of old Roberts radio ephemera for £150. Masses of early radio leaflets/brochures etc. Years later, sold individual items on Ebay for around £2500. Went all over the world.

My Bendix pal had a postcard collection not looked at for years. Total receipts exceeded a £1000. The highlight was a Titanic original (unmarked) which fetched £420. Probably would have done better at a specialist auction.

Have bought several of my bell collection on Ebay. Sometimes I have had to pay over the odds. Other times I have picked up real bargains.

Ebay can be a lot of fun. It is also a minefield so one needs to be streetwise.
