Evening all, was my birthday this week and had pressie cash burning a hole in my pocket and been totally bitten by all these pretty Aristocrat/Popular posts lately so had to have a punt on this:

Firstly I realise the pics are'nt brilliant but have been lucky so far with my few purchases. Not sure which model it is though.
Could it be this one:

Or maybe this one:

And finally be honest have I made a complete tit of myself and paid too much or got lucky?

Hi mate,

What you have won is a Number 46 Popular
1939%20Popular%20No47%20England.JPG

in a case for a No 47 Popular (this was somtimes practice for gillette to use what cases they had....)

The second choice you made is actually my own personal No 14 Aristocrat that is on Mr Razors site, pics made the handle look thinner than it is....

Photos aren't great - looks like the handle is a bit brassy. Might just be the light though, or soap scum. Only 2 feedback ratings but gotta start somewhere.
If it scrubs up well you'll have a nice razor there. Not sure about valuations - others will be able to help.

Thanks Steve, hope it was worth the money when I get it cleaned up. I do like the open comb gillettes, they give me a comfortable shave. It will be a user not a collection piece so I don't mind a bit of brassing.
Will clean it up and take some decent photo's when it arrives.

Yeah im sure it will clean up fine, the only problem with the bay is you don't get good photos, and this sellers photos are s**t !!

just let if soak in quite hot water when you get it, use an ultrasonic machine if you have one, a GENTLE going over with a toothbrush, and possible a very very gentle going over with some non abraisive polish.

just go easy with it, don't over do it.... it needs love :blush::angel:

I suppose I could always have it replated if it has suffered a lot of brassing but will have to see it in the light of day when it is cleaned up. Cost of the razor and replating would still work out cheaper than some are currently selling for.
