dry skin

Jimmy

I've tried a few balms over the years as I have sensitive skin. The one I think is best for really dry skin is The Real Shaving Company Moisturiser. It's been mentioned on here before that people don't like it as it's too greasy which should translate into good for you. I certainly only needed to apply a very small amount. You can sometimes pick it up in bargain bins at TK Maxx etc but Boots sell it (or used to).

Let me know how you get on as I have a few here unused that I would be willing to part with. If I can find something to put it in I could send you a sample to try as I have an opened tube if you want?

is that it mate?

Best I've found is Trumper's Skin Food, which is based heavily on vegetable glycerin as far as I know. Being hygroscopic it tends to absorb moisture from atmosphere and thus helps to keep the skin hydrated without the addition of too many chemicals ; it's certainly non greasy after application in my experience.

The Natural Grooming Co. moisturiser is made by The Real Shaving Company people (Creightons) and is a thick, but not too greasy moisturiser. It is sold at Asda for under £2 for 100 ml. It is a good winter moisturiser for me. Mrs Smell The Glove likes the scent of this and the face wash.

It is a pretty good budget range.

Sadly i don't think that poundland sell the real shaving co stuff any more,if as hunnymonster mentioned you don't have any luck with the other shops try tesco as they used to sell the RSC shaving cream around £2.50 and also saw the balm, not sure of the price of that tho,
You could try the superdrug own brand sensitive aftershave balm i get good results from that ;)

If you like aftershave splashes, there's one or two which, whilst not moisturising as such, don't seem to do any harm: Speick and Musgo Real work well. Mind you, dry skin is only a problem for me in the winter.

Just an update i tried a bit of the RSC shaving balm last night and the superdrug one and i think that the superdrug brand is
deffo more greasy of the two, ;)

My skin gets dry sometimes. Last year I "borrowed" some of SWMBO's day cream and have been using it myself ever since.

Best bit is it only costs £1.99 a pot from Aldi - Lacura Day Cream - if you fancy a go :)
