You're too new to this game, son. As an owner of a number of synths ranging from 10 quid to over 100 - there's ZERO difference in terms of the knot's properties. Only in craftsmanship/materials. The fact that you've tried shitty ones doesn't prove anything - you absolutely CAN get a brilliant synth brush for a tenner.
All my Yaqis were around a tenner, and the Rainbow one in particular is a great brush at any price.
Today I used my cheapest brush a 4 Euro today, a Omega 10075 (23mm/48mm) boar, it was stiff and scrubby before but it's broken in a bit it's got very soft tips but still has a huge amount of backbone; an absolute delight to use, really efficient for how much soap it uses as well. The handle isn't the best but I'm not one to be bothered by a handle.
