Doble glazed door.. no im not trying to sell :)

I have a double glazed door in my kitchen leading to the garden, the problem is it has two hinges one at the top and one at the bottom. This means taht the door bows in the middle letting all my warmth out.

It has a catch on it but it isnt complete, I have searched the web to no avail looking for the missing piece, I was wondering if anyone new what the missing piece was called so I can narrow my search.

Basically the piece I have is a hook that protrudes out and what would normally happen is there would be a part to accept this and it would pull the door tight in the middle.. Im missing the i guess female part of this catch.

Please can anyone help me.

Glazing manufacturer's order these components off the shelf as a whole so the chances of you finding that particular missing piece are really quite small if not impossible, there maybe a chance of replacing the mechanism as a whole if you can get hold of the original installers/manufacturers but it doesn't sound like a particularly new installation?

If not and it were me I'd plug the gap up as best I could temporarily with some door seal foam strip then I'd try my luck at a local glazing manufacturer and see if they can point me in the right direction. They might have something off the shelf that could do the same job.

Lastly if I didn't want to pay for a replacement door to be fitted and I didn't care too much about a match I'd get a stock replacement door and frame from a super shed and replace it myself. A few frame fixings and upvc strip can be had from any where.

If you can get me a few pics, I know the odd glazier as I've had some replacement windows done recently.

Well I couldnt take a photo as i forgot to bring my camera home tonight.

So i found this on the web, its some type of bolt hinge i think.. not really sure... will take photos tomorrow.

I think you need a replacement upvc butt hinge.

Find the one to match, if your door frames have flat rectangular profile as pictured above you will need one with 0 degrees

Hi Antdad

Yes thanks for looking at those for me, but they are not the type im looking for. This hinge has no type of pin mechanism, it has a female and male part that meet as you close the door. The female part is present its just the female part I am missing.

I will take some photos later as it probably makes no sense.
