This isn't a thread to resurrect all the feelings in the Derby hating camp........ but I received 10 Derby Platinum's for 99p delivered today - and just wondered if anyone had tried them and how they compared to standard Derby's?

These are on my to try list as well. Have to work through Connaught's lord sampler and some sputniks first though.

The green Derbies have always left me with very sore and irritated skin, but I'd be willing to give the orange ones a go. Where can I find them for 99p? Cheapest I've seen them is £1.99

One out of the orange box both the wrapper and the blade are exactly the same as a normal Derby :?
Nice shave with the Tech though, will try again tomorrow with a different razor.

I will have to try a green Derby again (my friend has a stash) as they were my first ever DE blade. I think I applied too much pressure which caused the irritation but it could be that and the coatings as well.

A lot of people start their DE shaving with Derby's - it does make me wonder how much of their bad reputation is down to the users inexperience.
Used the Platinum in my Fatboy on 5 tonight ( the blades second shave) and it performed very well indeed over the three passes. I'm impressed.

Third shave tonight, in the Superspeed and the blade continued to impress, probably worked better than in the Fatboy last night (I get on better with a mild razor, so maybe the FB on 5 was too much). Last use tomorrow, when I will try it the Krona (subject to change...).

Forth shave tonight, and it will be my last with this blade, although it was still cutting well. Used in the Krona as I said. I'm mildly sceptical that these blades look exactly the same as normal Derby's, but did seem sharper and smoother to me. Anyone else anything to add?
