Hiya,
Received my lucky bid ebay purchase yesterday and the razor's condition is excellent. Just a couple faint marks on the doors from very few actual shaves.....one of my favorite razors and I don't mind using it because it's not quite mint. Great for me! A nice condition cased US gold plated Aristocrat can still be had for well under $100 and they're a joy to use and purty too.
Anyway, this item was mislabeled and hardly anyone bid so I was happy with how things turned out. Nice back up Aristo to my other back ups....heh. However, as I examined the razor more it became something I didn't know existed till then. Crazy thing had a date on it going back to the third quarter of 1950. Yep, was dated V3 and in a weird spot too, which I hadda learn about from various searches. They are real things.
So what I got here is someone's Holy Grail razor. Sadly it's not me but I bet this would do ok with people bidding. Far as I know, the only other V3 razor is an unusual Superspeed and the Aristo's lots classier.
Anyway, a few pics,
Martin
