Great! The base unscrews so I can get in from behind the knot as well ...
Hair trimmed and drilled straight through, the knot crumbled and dropped straight out.
I tidied the hole up just a touch and popped a 20mm blonde boar knot in, same as the other two from the link at the top. I can glue from the back, which is how it was done originally.
Epoxy in from behind and it'll set solid ... it did!
Test lather after a wash with Prep Cream and a first lather up with MWF ... washed off and then a proper test lathering. Prep Cream doesn't so much simply soften the hair but it does condition it which has the effect of soften it, or rather taking all the roughness out. From there, it lathers a treat!
