Coolmanship

That's a difficult one, what does 'cool' really mean? Are people cool these days, or was that an early 90s phenomenon which in order to meet you had to own an Escort Cosworth a small yacht and a Shell suit.

Nice thread, Sir.

Anyone who is simply himself, freely and openly, without insulting others though through actions or behaviour.

Anyone who is not afraid to speak up, always in a gentlemanly manner of course.

Anyone who does not waste an hour of his precious (in this life) time, and anyone who forges ahead in life with positive energy.

And last but not least, anyone who knows how to dress, behave and live in style.

According to many young people, I do a lot of cool things. It's often the only word they use to describe something.

Cool is surely that indefineable yet unmistakable detatchment seen of one who is living in the moment. At rest, they seem to be on the point of movement, in movement they seem to be almost at rest. When he was asked the secret of his amazing height and duration of jumps the gr8 Nijinsky commented, "I just leap where I wish & then remain there." Absolute zen and truly cool imo.
Take a look at almost any Steve Mqueen film or watch an aikido exponent.

Pretty well put by you too actually - although Johnny seems to be telling us that we are trying to define the undefinable. Huh

Indefinable in words perhaps, "The Tao which can be named is not the true Tao".
Or, as a Japanese sensei I knew expressed it, "To be is to do".

'Cool' is more a state of mind than 'Chap', I reckon.

If the words of the peom 'if' can be applied to you by others, then I think the word 'cool' is implied . . . if never actually used.
