Apologies if this has been discussed somewhere before...

Has anyone used this product before? I'm intrigued....

I might give it a try, its only a couple of quid.

I remember my old barber used to put talc of some type on the back of my neck after a haircut and neck shave.. Really took the sting out of it.

"The talc absorbs moisture which is perfect for oily or sensitive skin, susceptible to rashes"

I don't get it. Soap companies tout their soaps as 'moisturizing'. After shave (balm) companies tout their after shaves as 'moisturizing',. Talc company claims that a known desiccant (talcum powder, magnesium silicate) will soothe and treat irritated skin?

To be fair Henk, if its medicated talc it should have a small percentage of Allantoin.

My barber Uncle after using a shavette to clean up the neck line usually gives a puff of the stuff and it seems to work.

Don't know if Clubman is medicated though.

I was thinking the same thing. If anything, I would have thought that shaved skin needs more moisture.

Sure, any 'dust' with allantoin in there would display the effect of the allantoin (unless incorporated into the crystal structure of that dust).

I'm not saying that talcum powder won't work as after shave, I was just pointing out the diametrically opposed claims made for different products, where after shave balms are claimed to work because they are moisturizing, and talcum powder is claimed to work because it absorbs moisture...

;-)

One of the many contradictions that I seem to have come across during my relatively short wet saving career.

I can only conclude that it's down to "what works for one might not work for others".

Damned comedians.

Seriously though, its used at barbers as talc inhibits sweat, also it would help soothe a neck after being trimmed as to stop chaffing from the shirt collar.

I remember getting a little puff on the back of my neck!.... Ah! those were the days.

PC over to you.

Remember though, for all this chatting going on, talc is cheap.
