Has anyone got one of these? I'm thinking of putting it in the wish list and was hoping someone has some experience?

Prices are
$40 for normal Handle
$45 for deluxe handle
$25 gillette NEW long or short comb
$20 gillette OLD head
$20 gillette tech head

Not sure of the difference between the NEW long or short.

I'll try and get some pictures put up when in not using a phone.

It is a really nice piece of kit. and talk about heft, I reckon Vinnie would have trouble carrying it around.
 
I keep reading about the weight!

I've ordered the deluxe with a NEW and Tech head on behalf of SWMBO for me :lol: Bob seems a really nice guy to deal with and is going to do an extra knob with the lines that run down the handle.

As nice as the BRW handles are my only problem with the "concept" of a very hefty handle combined with English NEW head is that it really doesn't need it, it's a fairly aggressive razor all on it's very own. I've mucked about with adding heft to mine and I've come to the conclusion that if the balance is good anything above 70g is excessive.

Nonetheless it'll be interesting to see how you get on with it...especially after being used to cartridges (I think)
 
I was well and truly on the cartridges, but now I've found it was the soap causing issues and me needing a sharper blade now I'm well and truly a DE user and achieving great shaves with a feather and a merkur HD.

The handle and head of the Bull Mastiff comes in at 77g
 
See how you get on, it is though a very different beast to a HD and personally I found using Feather's in it a bit too much for daily use.

With that weight, aggression combined with a Feather it'll be interesting. :mrgreen:
 
If that head doesn't suit me then so be it, I've ordered a tech head along with it and could always get the nickel plated merkur 42 (Same head as the HD just 3 piece and nickel)

I personally find a feather is too harsh for me to use in an open comb on a daily basis. I have no issues with them in a Merkur HD or Gillette SS's. As has been mentioned, you will need to be prepared to try a different blade or three til you find one that hits the spot.
