I noted these two comments about how people use their brushes:
"I make lather, soap or cream, in a mug and paint it on my face so stuff like the softness of brush tips, bristle thinness or strength, or even density doesn't matter much as they all work for my purposes."
"I lather directly on the face after loading the brush. I twirl and work the brush, and optimal face-feel is what I seek."
The former has a wide range of brushes to choose from and will be satisfied with a relatively inexpensive brush.
The latter may be still searching, and have spent quite a lot!
