Boots Original Bay Rum

Bought some Boots Original Bay Rum today after lots of 'umming & ahhh-ing' and smelling all the different bottles including Boots Freshwood aftershave (that smells very similar but not quite. You'll know what I mean if you've smelt both lol).

It smells really nice. It smells just like bay leaves probably because it has pimenta acris in it. I'm not sure if it's real or synthentic but it smells nice none the less.

It says on their website that "Boots Bay Rum is a conditioning hair dressing with a traditional fragrance." So, I'm assuming you rub it on your hair lol. I'm be trying it soon on my hair and on my face after I've had a shave to let you all know how I've got on with it.

Anyone here tried it as a hair tonic or aftershave? What do you think of it?

:)

Oh my! Well, those are two things I'm yet to try: bay rum ...and buggary! lol :p I shall let you know hehe :D

Ps. Just out of interest, Steve, what bay rums would you recommend other than the boots version?

Nothing springs to mind. :?

Um... :? :?

Er...........:? :? :?

Oh yeah, Ogallala!! :p :p :p

I use it at times both as a hair tonic or cologne, I would love some Ogallala to compare against but so far it has evaded me.
I blended my own bay rum to match the boots just because I had no other pint of reference.
Does not last long though and neither does my diy version.

That 'Ogallala' stuff I've just had a look for. It seems like it can only be obtained from America. I'm in the UK lol :p

Cheers fella. I've just had a look. :)

Blimey those bottles are a bit pricey. Is that ogallala stuff any good?

Let me get that Boots bay rum out the way first then I shall consider it.

If I have any problems with Boots stuff I could always use it as a hair tonic lol :p

Thanks again Pig Cat hehe :)
