Funny you mention that, Carl - while I agree completely that the German Wilkies are a disappointment given how good their English predecessors were, I reckon the Indian Gillette Wilkinson Sword Saloon blades are well-worth trying. They're not the sharpest blade around, but I find them extremely smooth, which is rare in my experience with mild blades - mild often seems to be inseparable from "rough" or "tuggy".
