More on the spin applied to global warming data:

I remain sceptical. There is so much cash riding on this
bandwagon that the temptation of research departments to produce "the
right figures" must be great.

I do believe the earth is getting hotter, but not by as much as claimed
and not only or principally for the reasons claimed.

The sun is running hotter. From time to time it does that.

Nevertheless I do think we should use less energy and use it more
efficiently so it will last longer; and I do believe we should run a
cleaner show, reducing pollution as much as we can.

I agree.
We should clean up our act and not make a mess.
However I think there are people making a lot of money out of this and they will do anything to silence those who know the truth.
Burn coal, coal is good.

I think this is the important bit to keep in mind.

Aside from that, what a bunch of morons, the hockey stick caused enough controversy and the methods for that were made freely available. Models with hidden biased methods is just ridiculous.

Unless it's the reptilian elite infiltrating our institutes of science to make us lose faith and destroy ourselves, oops sorry, don't know where that came from. I'll get my coat, and tinfoil hat, and be off.

Yes, global temperature is on the rise. However I am more concerned with pollution and how we're using the planet's remaining (finite) natural resources.

A complaint was raised against the programme, which was upheld

The makers point was unanswerable: that there was plenty media coverage of the contrary view, and this was an attempt at balance.

I'm probably just getting too sceptical/suspicious/cranky in my old age  It leads me to question sources on the old interweb.

As far as global warming goes, the more I read the more confused I get, and the less I have a strong opinion. It does seem sensible though to reduce waste and pollution for many other reasons.
