Have been using Alum Block after each Shave. When dried have then used Post Shave
Balm.
Should I be rinsing the Alum off, before applying balm or After Shave[ currently do not
use one] Any ideas,at reasonable cost, is Floid OK.

Wash off as soon as possible - no longer than a minute. Most post-shave balms won't like residual alum on your skin, so be thorough.

Alum's great though, I'm a big fan! :)

Enjoy your shaves!

I tend to shave before getting in the bath/shower so if I use alum I'll rinse it off in the natural course of bathing.

Rinse off, and dry the block or stick, my Holland & Barrat stick instructions say that if you dry it off you extend the Alum life.
Yes I Do that, but have not been rinsing Alum off face, which most people advise.

I only use my alum block when i have a cut, and then do my hole face with it, and then on with the poraso. i have never rinsed it off first, perhaps i should.

That seems to be the general consensus.
