I popped into the hat shop in York in March, lovely shop!I have a couple ... one kept well, which I bought in York (at The Hat Shop) and one a bit cheaper but I don't have to worry too much about keeping pristine which I bought in Malta. For mid-price, good quality and good range M&S is a sound choice.

York is a bigger place than I had imagined so for the one day I had planned to visit York wasn't really enough so it was just a quick look in with no purchase, I had the purchase of pies in mind so I was somewhat distracted!!!Popped? It'd take you an hour just to have a cursory glance! Did you buy a hat?
@Digimonkey @Blademonkey - Good to see the Akubra's getting a run. They really are excellent hats, and last many, many years.I would have thought, if you wanted to work up some serious bush-hat porn P. - you ought to copy @TomG in?- I.
They are certainly well made hats, which hat have you got?@Digimonkey @Blademonkey - Good to see the Akubra's getting a run. They really are excellent hats, and last many, many years.
I have one that I purchased in the late 80's, and still going strong, and it's seen some serious sun.
Best,
T.
A Cattleman - very popular with the Cockies, so due to volume, you can (or could back in the day) pick one up at a decent price at rural agricultural supply outlets. They are certainly well made hats, which hat have you got?

Perfect for this heatwave! The Hat Shop in York is obviously my local Hatter. I have bought 2 or 3 Panama's and two Stetsons. One in Toyo and another in Raffia.

The Raffia is a lot more darker in reality...
