Acquisitions w/c Mon 25th Apr - Sun 1st May incl.

It's ok for keeping the lip smasher under control. But I wouldn't imagine it being any good at full on styling as I don't think it has the holding power. And being water based I don't think its going to hold up to a full British summer rain storm.

The firehouse line looks good, especially the wacky tacky, but I haven't been able to find a UK supplier. I'm going to get some of the bounders, as most reviews have been positive.

I think I have acquired a Gillette #58 from a car boot sale today. Inside of case is grubby as is the razor but hopefully will clean up OK.

One of these I think: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Piece%20solid%20guard%20bar/1955%20No58.JPG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Pi ... 20No58.JPG</a><!-- m -->

Watch out Steve - There's competition :evil:

TOBS lemon and lime, I've really got a thing for lemon and lime at the moment. Smells quite strange. Kind of woody lemon and lime.

Got a cracking shave with it earlier.

I have one of these. Lovely razor if you like aggressive razors. It's about a 6-7 on a slim adjustable.

After thinking about popping over to Asda in Bournemouth where I could pick up Palmolive sticks for 48p we decided to have coffee this morning in Lymington. Out of a saving of around £4 in petrol I bought three sticks in Superdrug for the outrageous price of 70p each but with enough left for one coffee.

Petrol was £1.39 per litre today. Where is it heading?

Kick off imminent. It's sportsday, again.

nicely done mate, very nicely done, they go for a hefty price on the bay so to find one in the wild is a bloody good score mate

all you need now is the #66 and #45 sets and you have the complete coronation set (i'm two thirds there, the 45 is a bugger to find)

But do they all have the crown on the case though?

shut it you !!!!! :? :? :?

in my mind they do

i am trying to find mint examples of these razors, i had a mint 58 and a shabby case, then found a mint case so now have the mint set, i have a 66 but the case is shabby, so on the lookout for a mint case.

there was a 45 on sale on the bay a few days ago but went for silly money

Two books:

- Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary, and
- "Street Photography Now" (Thames & Hudson).

(now why I posted something like this here I really can't say, perhaps once in a while to share a different 'acquisition'...)

Posted the wrong link Steve. What I actually have is one of these: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Piece%20solid%20guard%20bar/1956%20No58%20England.JPG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Pi ... ngland.JPG</a><!-- m -->

Probably really common and worthless On the plus side, on first inspection there seemed to be major plate loss around the collar and on one side of the handle. Howeve, after an overnight soak and a little gentle scubbing with a soft toothbrush, all appears intact! Will run it through thr ultrasonic cleaner and give i a gentle polish and will post pics.

i would be surprised if it didn't clean up really well, from what i hear these are very robust................bloody good find, are you a collector of sets or a user ?

I would say a 'keenish' user rather than collector. I like nice shiney things but am not likely to keep anything I don't enjoy shaving with.

I have had various 'mild obsessions' over the years (e.g. went through a phase of collectiong 1920's/30's cocktail books) and this is my latest and, as it can still be affordable with some luck, it is likely to stick.
