Acquisitions - March 2024

Some late arrivals.
I anticipate this being the last few things for a good while as I am planning a house move soon.

Some purchases from the legend known as @pjgh

Some rare and interesting eBay purchases.

Nacet blades which only have the Gillette branding on the stock re-order card.
Date code on a blade is Q1 1980.
Ive had one shave with one blade so far and found it to be OK but not much more that. Will see how the blade performs as it wears and try it in other razors.
Certainly a rare and interesting order.

This has been in my watch list a while.
It's in excellent nick and I have a full set of the correct blades to go in it... but they're in storage under loads of stuff.

For now I've made the best I can with existing blades.

Been considering one of these for ages, but intry not to duplicate manufacturers I'm my "top level" group of razors. But, I've loved every Muhle I've ever used and I have caved in.....

Initial impressions are great. Very nicely designed and finished. Lovely matt stainless steel.

First shave will be tomorrow as I continue "Muhle March".

Already having a Rocca (or two ... no, three ... no, four) I went a different route ...

I also already have a Muhle R89 head and the big Muhle R89 Twist, but I've never had an Edwin Jagger ... ever. So, I bought the shortie which I think is an Amazon-only thing:

Photographed with the Muhle R89 Twist for size comparison.

The handle is a tad shorter than the regular - here's an infographic:

The shortie comes in plain, lined or knurled. I don't like the lined much and the knurling is different on the handle to the pommel which would realy irk me! So, plain it is ... I might put some heatshrink on the central part of the handle.

Nice!

The only EJ in my rotation is the (rather excellent) 3ONE6 - also in full SS.

A natural comparison to the Rocca could be imminent!

Yesterday's mail call and some previous blades haul

Some good old Polsilver for start.

Two sets of Gentleman's Nod/Zaharoff. I already have both of them, but since they are no longer produced, when the opportunity appeared, I bought a small stock.

EdP Musashi from Gentleman's Nod has joined the soap and aftershave.

Gillette Red Tip in a box. I haven't cleaned it yet, but after initial viewing it looks very good.

And finally, custom made by Turningz by TanZ. With my poor skills, it was difficult to take any good photos, but in real life the brush looks amazing.

Beautiful cabinet!

Good God. You don't do buying shaving stuff in halves. Your last few purchases have probably outstripped my total!

I am utterly inadequate
