Garlic. Just crush gently with your kitchen knife and it'll pop out of its skin. Crush well and mince with the blade. Done.

Ring-pull tins. Nasty! You pull and when they finally click off, it springs product everywhere. Conventional removal every time. But yes, Corned beef - that's a sound method.
