3 kinds of razor

WOW!! Didn't expect to get this much debate on the subject. Even when I use a straight (been using them for about 7 years now on and off) I have never been truly satisfied with the closeness of the shave, even when I had one at my local barber some months ago. I always end up following up with a DE and/or cartridge razor. I usually take between 45 minutes and an hour to complete the shave from prep through to applying moisturizer.
I very rarely get any irritation and fortunately don't suffer from ingrowing hairs. Probably my beard is too much like copper wire :lol: Shaving was and still is a chore

I usually take about 15 from closing the bathroom door, to shower, prep, shave, tidy, dry & leave again... Even at the start of DE shaving going slowly and taking extra care it was no more than 25 for the above.

At 45-60' for a shave no wonder it still seems a chore... after the second pass if it's not a socially acceptable shave, I'd say there is something awry with your technique. If it's taking you 15+' per pass then I'd be more concerned about it regrowing before I'd finished the pass :lol:

It is still a pain in the arse even when I electric shave. Think I might give waxing a try!! :lol:
