Hi all,
Just bought this on ebay. Gave it a clean with some mild handwash and a toothbrush - it came up alright!

Thanks :) I've recently bought an ally tech so I'm going to keep using that for a while and save this for a bit. Looks too nice to use :S

Hi there,

Now that Aristocrat is a razor you don't see very often. Over the years I've only found one of those in the wild and the plating was pretty much gone on the handle. Just bought that one fairly recently and I thought it worth replating, which is where it's at right now.

If you haven't tried an Aristo from the late 40s-early 50s you should give it a spin........unless yours is mint. Then it might not make sense using it, since I'd guess it would shave the same (very well) as the later models.

I use a near mint Aristocrat in in my rotation and the gold is still intact and shiny after maybe 40 shaves, so don't worry about the plating coming off easily.

You found a nice little treasure there,

Martin

Oh yeah, you probably already know that's the same razor as a 1941 Regent Tech....another rare item.

+1 on that!
I have one of these too, mint and boxed, lovely piece of kit, it's definitely in my top 3 of DEs. (I have a shaver grade one too now, which I use instead)

Don't just look at it, use it ;)

Well, used it last night :) It was lovely! Removed the blade and dried it all off though and back on the shelf. I think I'll just use it for special occasions :)
