Lovely textured watch face, and easy to read at a glance.
I have exactly the same watch; wear it every day; as I understand it; it is the original G-Shock design and simply the best!

I originally had the same watch with gold lettering and gold buttons; when it eventually gave up the ghost after many, many years, I purchased the original with the white lettering and silver buttons. The watch has been cheapened; not quite so solid as the very originals; which as I understand it came out in early 80's, but this design is essentially the same.
NB: I am in no way whatsoever an expert or aficionado; but this is my recollection of events!
Funny you say that actually. I've got a Tough Solar analogue because I wanted a maintenance free beater. I think I'm past the age of buttons, I can never remember which button to press and how long to hold it down for and all that malarkey. It's supposed to be World Time and make it easy when travelling but tbh although I like the watch, what could be easier than pulling the crown and advancing or dialling back the hour? OK so you might make it 30 sec slow in the process but better than fannying about for 5 min! I do like the watch but I'm glad the time only changes twice a year and I'll take an old school watch for any travel I may get to do!I have the one G-Shock which rarely makes an outing during the summer. What an absolute palaver changing the time. It is set on UTC and that is where it remains. Hence more a winter watch, strangely.

Someone should tell those solar arrays they are pointing the wrong way! They need some plant technology, turn to face the sun as it moves.
