What a tremendous looking razor, Tony. Any modification necessary for the Gem blade?
Thanks @Scotshave
No mods needed at all, some use a 3D printed packer which I was going to do but the "old hands" on TOST3 forum said I would be ok using the GEM as normal.
They are a wonderful razor. I have 2, one of them I restored myself.
Mine are the newer version from around 1902 ;)I believe. Getting really hard to find and they command a pretty penny these days.

Used this Razor again today, as proved to be excellent yesterday. Not that much difference in terms of finished Shave quality than that delivered by The Oren. A really pleasant trouble free Shave, with a finish not often matched by other Razors that I use.

I'm mostly a hard soap/croap fan, but I decided to give some shaving creams a bit more of a whirl, starting with some Ach Brito Lavanda that I got when I bought a bottle of the cologne recently. The shave...
  • Usual pre-wash with Ach Brito Glyce soap
  • Ach Brito Lavanda shave soap
  • Yaqi 24mm Cashmere
  • EJ89/Razorock Titanium + Nacet blade
  • Alum rub and cold rinse
  • La Toja splash (brand new bottle just received)
  • Nivea Sensitive shave balm
  • Ach Brito Lavanda cologne for the 'pulse points'

A nice 2-pass shave and I really like that Lavanda scent. Now for a brandy and a good book!

Have a good evening all(y)
