On this most bodacious of days the theme for my shave was 'Blood Curdling Monsters'

The Alien death ray - Muhle R41 on an ATT Colossus
Vlad the Impaler - Polsilver Lodz
Wolfgang Von Brush - Razorock 24mm Plissoft
The soap from the Black Lagoon - Extro Arzachena shaving soap
The scent of Frankenstein - Extro Arzachena EDC
And yet another kind loan, this time from the very generous
@Boycie83 and that A&E favourite the Muhle R41.
So this is the razor which holds that infamous adoration of being one of the most aggressive heads there is out there. This is that razor which makes grown men weep and which is single handily responsible for great quantities of toilet rolls being used in an alternative manner to their purpose.
Open Combs don't really play much of a part in my shaving cabinet outside of an Ikon OC (big softy) and a halfway there OC in the Seygus so it was quite interesting to be acquainted with them once again. I am impressed that unlike the 89 this head fully covers the blade from tab to tab. Something I rather like after a few accidents due to overexposed protruding blades. Partner with the weighty ATT Colossus and here we have a shaving head which in theory should be fully capable of reaping corn, or may be a soul or two.
First lather up some of the wonderful Extro Arzachena with that lather monster of a brush, the Rocky Horror RazorRock 400 and apply to face. Seems a shame I now have to remove it all in the name of shaving, but Ho Hum so is the way of life. Take a deep breath and dive in with the evil R41.
Mmmmmm? Is it really that evil? Nothing happening to strike fear to my face and actually one nice and easy to use razor. Yes it is aggressive, but I don't think any more so than my favourite DE in the Ikon SB. It has 'pay respect to the blade' written all over it and that is exactly the approach I took. A full three passes and whereas I had it in my mind it would take more bandages than it took to wrap Boris Karloff to clear the mess I was completely taken aback that not one spill of blood was made during the making of this shave. One really nice, clean and extremely pleasant shave
and smoother than the immaculately attired Count Dracula at the annual Monster Ball.
A splash of the most delectable Extro Arzanchena EDC to round of this evening's sink activities and feeling refined and refreshed. All ready to go to bed and a day on the river on my little tug boat. I wish you all a most fantastic weekend and in my case I will be tugging for the whole two days. As we say, 'Eat, sleep, tug'
Monster, Monster, Monster
And who else to put a fitting end to my SOTD than those wonderful physchobilly rockers 'The Blood Sucking Zombies From Outer Space...
