Roll up roll up roll up you people of the forum. Tonight I bring you a shave with the theme 'An extraordinarily wonderful shaving adventure'
An extraordinary great razor - Black Blacklands Blackbird
A most wonderful blade - Polsilver Lodz
A most bodacious brush - Cadman 30mm Tuxedo in carbon look with someone else's initials on it as I can't be arsed to change my name by deed poll after all
A brilliantly beautiful cream - Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet
Superbly super scent - Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine
And the most extraordinary thing about this evening's shave is that for three SOTD's in a row I have managed to write it all up on the same day as the actual shave. I must be turning a new leaf. Either that or I have time to waste. I will take the second option.
This evening was all about reminding myself there is a shaving world outside of SE's and in many ways the working end of this shave was almost a dedication to
@Blademonkey . After all he introduced me to Polsilver Lodz blades and sold me the Blackbird. What a man, he knows what is good in life. I still rate the Ikon ahead in terms of being aggressive, but the Blacklands is far more musical. The feedback on what is happening at the blade is awesome to an almost scary level as the music continues long after you think it has stopped. A bit like my SOTD's. Smooth, efficient and just bloody brilliant.
Given a great cream (and the Blenheim most certainly is) and a superb brush to lay down the shaving foundation the Blackbird is a force to be reckoned with. If there are any hairs left on my face this evening then they are doing a most wonderful job of hiding. Faced with this facial hair removing implement I would as well.
A most fantastically smooth finish and more refined than the Cognac I am enjoying at this moment. And I do like my Cognac.
So chuffed with the end result a scent was always going to be on the cards. In this case Atelier Orange Sanguine just to make sure the night finished on a wave of tangerine to drown in. And I would be happy to asphyxiate in a sea of oranges. Unfortunately being a seaman it would more likely to be in a saline solution.
Be well all you shaving (and of course, non shaving) folk out there and may your days be kind
