Efficient is the word, the square comb Shovel is even more so. Shorter handles work better for me with vintage SE razors because the head is light. Need to get the center of mass closer to the head.
Though I get on with a 1914 and 1912s with the original handle, I find the 1924 to work better for me with a LH.

YMMV notwithstanding, how do you find your shaves with this razor?

I recently got myself a thirdhand Hawk off the 'bay; nicely made, nice weight & having a wider blade & shave was quite appealing.

But. I tend to measure all shaves against my everreadies.
And the result wasn't as nearly clean as a GEM blade shave.
How do you find your own shaves with this razor?

I find the Hawk to be a super shaver despite the fact I don't find it the most user friendly of razors and can be awkward. Plus not the best manufactured of the SE brigade.

But as per my last SOTD, given the right team behind it, bloody stunning.

There is no doubt it SC SE's are incredibly efficient and other than the duffers @Boycie83 sent me I have yet to meet a bad blade.
