OK. I've just used this soap. Wow! I put a small amount in my lather bowl and chased it around with the brush for a bit. I think the brush held a little too much water for the soap and it produced a really thin almost non existent lather. I had loaded two razors with a Ladas blade just in case I needed something mild due to the reportedly thin lather. An ATT S1 and an ATT R2. Looking at the lather and wanting to keep most of my face, ugly as it is I plumped for the former. I applied the lather and it really was the coldest I have ever used. I'm no menthol head and have really only so far used menthol samples from the now released P&B Denali and the yet to be sorted Wickhams which is still being formulated.
My eyes started to water almost immediately and the face was freezing.
First pass was OK. It was slick enough to get away with it but for the second xtg I had a brain wave and decided to add some Wool Fat to the mix. This is the nearest I have to unscented and the difference was immediate. The lather was awesome and it had no effect on the menthol cooling which was even more apparent on the second pass.
The rinse off was interesting. leaving my face really cold for 5 minutes or more.
It has been a really nice experience mainly thanks to the Wool Fat giving the soap a much needed helping hand.
Thanks for the opportunity Nishy to try a real Menthol soap. I loved it.
