Ah the Gillette tech, the solution to how many razors do I need.Welcome. I hated the EJ89, not sure why. Life changed when I got a vintage Gillette Tech. And a PAA Bakelite slant. And about 40 others. Ahem.

Isn’t that n+1, where n is how many razors you already have?Ah the Gillette tech, the solution to how many razors do I need.
Yes n+1 Tech and the world is in equilibrium and all shaves are comfortable and slick.Isn’t that n+1, where n is how many razors you already have?
LolWelcome along
Resist the urge to try multiple razors, soaps & creams and you'll stand a chance of not becoming a pauper like most of us here
Lol
The Edwin Jagger was a moment of weakness, it was down to £15, and my Merkur is showing a few signs of wear, so...
Luckily, I have plenty of blades from the sampler so I've started the blade matching process over again. Really, I know I should stick to one blade and just work on technique
Welcome to.the forum and great shaves!!Afternoon all.
Long time wet shaver here, but only started doing it properly last year. I've been using a Merkur travel razor for years but abusing the hell out of it - canned gel/foam, in the shower, and using the same blade for months, that sort of thing. Last year though I changed my routine to showering at night and found I had much more time to devote to shaving, so I got some Proraso white, a boar brush, and a blade sampler, and have been working on it. I've 'upgraded' to a cheap Edwin Jagger off Amazon and find I can get a really good shave if I work at it.
I'm considering a more efficient razor and maybe some slicker soap, but really I just need to work on my technique
Sorry for the rambling first post.
I'll second those recommendations!!Can I recommend Astra (Green & Blue variants), and Voskhod blades for the Edwin Jagger razor - all three are well matched to it
