hahahaha Brilliant lolAmazon Japan
are you sure ?
i'm let to believe feather is not moulded steel but i don't know myself
hahahaha yip i guess not everything is to everyone's liking. i can agree with everything your saying, i actually think my next razor might be more aggressiveIt's MIM with chrome plating. There's nothing wrong with them to be fair although I do think the colour of the plating and the Feather logo look naff.
They are a nice mild shaver and there's plenty people who love them, and use them exclusively. I think to some folks a mild razor isn't worth that kind of money but mild razors aren't lesser razors to those who prefer mild razors.
Value for money is a funny thing. It's obvious from reading through the Forums that a lot of people pay big bucks for high end razors on the more aggressive side but rarely use them. To me, and this is just me, the die hard fan who uses a razor exclusively, is getting better value for their money, be it a mild razor or whatever. And there's a lot of die hard AS-D2 fans it seems. We had a AS-D2 pass around on here a few years back and I gave it a go but I honestly prefer my Tech or a Fatip Gentile. 'Orses for courses innit. I like Tabac so there.
The AS-D2 is essentially a stainless steel Tech. Whether or not (that's) a good thing is down to personal preference but I love mine.
Is there really any difference either way as regards the actual shave between the two, all aesthetics aside?
Well, I find there is. The Feathers is significantly heavier than the techs I have used and consequently delivers a better shave. I don't like techs as for me they are way too mild.
As always, ymmv.
