Brush Yaqi 24mm Atlantis New & 1st Use
This new synthetic brush is different. The bristles are not as soft and it feels stiffer...more back-bone more scritches. I like it...at least it's different from other Yaqi synthetics.
Seeing this thread tempted me to post again. I’m quite proud of this little brush. The handle is over 100 years old. Several years ago I dug out the old hair and replaced it with a 20mm New Forest two band knot and adopted it. It’s a perfect shape and size to paint on the lather and the tips are delightfully soft. Used today. One of my rare DIYs.
A trip down memory lane. We had a meet in London about ten years ago. A small group of forum members visited several of the famous barber shops including Trumpers. My only purchase that day was a Trumpers silver tip. It’s one of the small collection of brushes I have retained. It was in use today.
Oh no! Generally I don't like red things, but deep translucent candy red is a different matter, reminds me of sweets, and custom bike paint jobs. Hope the crack doesn't show when you glue it.
You will get brushes with nicer handles or better shapes but you will be lucky to get finer badger hair than on this New Forest Tubby. Batches of knots supposedly with the same hair often slightly differed. This brush has great backbone but also has exceptionally soft tips that make it a delight to use. It had its latest run out today.
