SOTD : Saturday 6th April - Friday 12th April

Thur 11th April

RazoRock Syn. 24 mm
P & B Citra Royale
ATT SE-G, modified
Gem S/S [ 3 ]
Pitralon Classic A/S Lotion

I did a back to back Shave with the ATT to see if I could get a better overall quality of finish. As it is a mild Razor it probably needed a bit more concentration and Shave Time when working around the more difficult areas of the neck. Am quite pleased to say that though the Shave took longer the finish around the neck was significantly better , and achieved without causing any problems.

We are off to Cardiff this afternoon for a bit of 'pomp and ceremony'. One of our friends has been appointed High Sheriff of an adjacent County and we unexpectedly received an invitation to the Inauguration and Reception. I should remain stubble free well into the early hours!

Yaqi Sagrada Familia - Blue's Dakar Soap - General Steel - Schick Proline P #7 - Alum - Blue Stratos A/S - Dove Nourishing Cream - Al Rehab 'Dakar' EDP

After seeing a Paul's @Blademonkey post, adding an Attar oil to a soap. It piqued my interest.
I remember having a full cake of Blue's Goat Milk soap. So I used some Al Rehab 'Dakar' attar oil to flavour a grated cake of the Blue's soap. On paper the notes of the oil are: Sage, Amber, Moss, Sandalwood, Agarwood (Oud), Cedar, Spicy. The finished soap was a triumph. And today's shave was marvelous. The lather and slickness were superb. I'm well pleased.
I now need some more Blue's soap!!

SOTD 11 April 2019

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Wright's Cold Tar Soap, cold water splash.
Soap: Martin de Candre Fougere.
Brush: Shavemac ' The Flat Top' Slivertip.
Bowl: Giles Shaving Co - Spotty Pedstal Wet Shaving Bowl.
Razor: Pils 101NE.
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (5).
Post: Cold water, OSP Eucalyptus & Menthol aftershave splash, followed by Ibiza Aloe - Aloe Vera Gel and Czech & Speake Vetiver Vert Cologne.

Excellent shave - still trying to get the sweet spot with the Pils; a relaxed 2 pass shave WTG and XTG face with WTG and ATG neck - a few touch-ups and a DFS+/BBS- finish, no issues to report.

SOTD April 05 - 10 April.

I have been away on holiday with SWMBO - Torridon then Skye.

Pre-shave: Warm shower, Kielhl's Ultra Facial Cleanser, cold water splash.
Cream: Kiehl's Flite Lite.
Brush: Omega Barberpole Hi-Brush Synthetic.
Razor: Hone 15 / Rex Ambassador (setting 1.5)
Blade: Astra SS.
Post: Cold water, OSP Eucalyptus & Menthol aftershave splash, followed by Kielh's Aloe Post Shave Balm and Kiehl's Musk EDT.

Excellent shaves while away - enjoyed the Hone 15 - I find that that razor needs a sharp blade to work, and the Astras SS were a good shout. I appreciate that YMMV.

I am going to try and stick to the Pils now that I am back in terra firma :)

All the best,

Chris

I find these Semogue brushes so confounding. I adore the 610 and desire to feel the same way about the Owners Club but they are complete polar opposites... The former brush despite being one of the cheapest they produce has so many admirable traits - Silky soft tips, strong backbone, superb lather generation ability, ergonomic handle... I could go on and on! The latter however despite being one of their "premium" brushes is scratchy on the face, quite floppy, terrible at producing lather and what it does produce seems to vanish between passes. Perhaps it just needs more break in, perhaps... I'll just keep telling myself that

First use of the Berg straight from Konstantinos and what a beauty it is, whoever honed it did a lovely job.

First SOTD for a while. New razor! Really happy with 3 pass W/W/X & face feels great

Prep: Bulldog Sensitive Face Wash / shower
Bowl: Executive Shaving handmade
Cream: Castle Forbes Lime
Brush: Muhle STF Synthetic
Razor: ATT S1 slant on iKon OSS handle, thanks @newbie for the trade
Stand : iKon
Blade: Astra SS
Post: Warm then cold water rinse, Bulldog Sensitive Moisturiser

Just a thought, the majority of post shaves seem to involve witch hazel, aftershave, balm or aloe vera gel. Doesn't seem often at all that moisturiser gets a mention. It works for me !

A great idea Arthur

Blue's isn't a bad soap, but it does lack a little in the scent department.
I wouldn't mind trying the same with my Blue's Soap with some Mr Perfume Sublime Vanilla oil.a Tom Ford copy, or Mr Perfume Kreed Green Irish Tweed.
How much perfume oil did you use ?
