Almost everything new: brush - shaving cream - razor handle - blade - ASB ... ;-)

Soap - Vitos Red
Brush - Omega 80265
Razor - Aluminium Tech
Blade - Gillette Platinum (1)
Post - Witch Hazel
Balm - Nivea Cooling
AS - Superdrug Forest Fresh

First shave with the new Gillette Platinum, the one in the new box (blue writing on white coloured box) and I'm fairly sure it's the same blade as the old box blade (white writing on blue coloured box). It's a very smooth blade possibly the smoothest of the PPI blades I have tried but it might not be the sharpest; I could see it working better in a razor with a bit more bite than the razor I used. It was probably as smooth as the Vosk I used yesterday, but I'd say the Vosk was a touch more efficient in the same razor.

A slightly better lather with the 80265, but it's still not quite what it was before I cleaned it with vinegar. Not sure why it stopped being as good a brush as it was after I cleaned it.

  • QShave Futur Clone setting (3)
  • Triton R3 (5)
  • NOM Black Fibre
  • Chinese wooden shaving bowl
  • Dr K - Peppermint
  • Van Der Lovett After-shave Balm Sailors Blend

A quick one before another visit to a different hospital, or as my wife says 'only the gynaecologist does not know you', the NOM brush still performs well above its weight-class, not that strange when you know it is just a cheap sub-brand of MÜHLE. The Dr K is a disapointment, dunno if it is over sell-by date but it smells very little like Peppermint and a lot like old rancid soap :-(
Happily the Van der Lovett balm covers all smell misshappenings with its great Bergamot smell, and all is good in the world again ;-)
I must say that the Qshave is a worthwhile razor to have, costs next to nothing and shaves like a dream, just on the edge of mild and very efficient with a great audio Feedback. Must be that huge head giving it so much sound, but i like it as it a great way to keep the thing at the right angle, you hear immediately when the angle is off its perfect point.

"Soap is alkaline and vinegar is acidic. Combined, they neutralize each other. Vinegar reverts the soap to its original oils. Soap cancels vinegar's ability to cut through scum."
I would wash your brush out thourghly with a shampoo or similar.
It may take a while to get all the acid out of it.

Thur 2nd May

RazoRock Syn. 24mm
L`Occitane Cade soap
ER 1924 + S/S Handle
Gem S/S [ 4 ]
Jaguar Prestige A/S Lotion
nouvreable
This ER 1924 is looking a bit tired as the plating is wearing through, but attached to this classic handle it is a joy to use being very manoeuvrable.
With a superb lather from the Cade soap, the Shave was smooth and comfortable, the !924 had no problems in delivering an ultra close all round finish. IMHO this Combo is far better than the Sabre L1 & ATT SE-G and of course a lot cheaper and easier to load.

Thanks for the info Tony! I've washed out the brush a few times with shampoo but it could probably do with a another wash.

Thursdays Shave

Used one of the NOS British Made Wilkinson Sword Blades that @Paul L very kindly sent me, Smooth and Very Sharp in the Dart. Thanks Paul yet another top blade you have introduced me too.

I'm pleased you liked the Wilkie Russell

You may struggle to get hold of any though.
They're very thin on the ground these days, and those that do appear from time to time sometimes have rust.
